Much of what I write on this blog is intended to be lighthearted and fun, although I try to be somewhat educational about the Law School and the Law School Foundation.
Every once in a while though something happens that stops the Law School community in its tracks and moves some of us to tears. Such is the case with the murder of Sean May ’98.
On Friday, I received notice from three members of the Class of 98 that Sean May was killed in his home in Denver. Newspapers have been calling the Law School to verify certain information and to request a comment.
Here's an article from a Denver news outlet.
For those of you who didn’t know Sean, he was a district attorney in Adams County. He was an extraordinary prosecutor who loved serving his community and a devoted husband. In fact, his wife is six months pregnant.
Not much is known about the circumstances surrounding his death, but Denver police have released a brief description of the suspect and the investigation is currently underway.
Anytime someone so young dies, it is shocking; but when that person’s death is caused by such a tragic and senseless act of violence, it is reprehensible.
I am truly saddened by this news and on behalf of everyone at the Foundation and the Law School community, I send Sean’s family my deepest condolences and my heartfelt sympathy.
